A Ewers-Klubnik battle in CFP first round will be sequel of an epic QB duel

When Texas and Clemson meet on Saturday, it won't be the first meeting between the teams' starting quarterbacks.

Quinn Ewers and Cade Klubnik met in seventh grade. They played seven-on-seven football against each other, as each of them had a dream in mind. They both wanted to play high level football in college before moving on to become NFL quarterbacks. I’m sure they didn’t know in seventh grade that the College Football Playoff would expand to twelve teams, both of their schools would get in, and they’d face each other in the inagural season of the 12-team playoff, but that’s the reality for Klubnik and Ewers this Saturday, as Ewers’ Texas Longhorns host Clemson and Cade Klubnik.

Klubnik won’t need much hosting though, he knows all the good spots in town.
